A "reconfiguration" of the city practices has been announced.

Riverside Highland Medical Group is taking on the care provided by Dunedin Medical Practice in Temple Crescent, Inverness.

In a statement the Riverside group said the move will mean a rapid return of face-to-face appointments for patients and a "much expanded" multi-disciplinary set of services including GPs and Advanced Practitioners to "increase the level of high quality clinical care, including more monitoring of acute and chronic conditions, at the practice."

Dr Iain Kennedy, Inverness GP and executive partner of Riverside Highland Medical Group said: “My GP partners and I are absolutely delighted to be bringing Dunedin Medical Practice into our group of Highland surgeries.

"We are looking forward to providing a smooth transition for the excellent Dunedin staff and to providing high quality healthcare for the patients registered with the practice."

The change will also provide ongoing support to the residents of the Aden House Care Home.

The new arrangement took effect from September 2.
