PICTURES: Broomhill Riding Centre at Fortrose on the Black Isle raises £1800 for the people of war-torn Ukraine a series of riding displays, stalls and entertainment from the Riders of the Storm stunt riding team, plus a Greatest Showman themed display

A fun open day at a Black Isle horse and pony riding centre has helped to raise £1800 for the people of war-torn Ukraine.

Broomhill Riding Centre, at Fortrose, hosted a series of riding displays, stalls and entertainment from the Riders of the Storm stunt riding team on Sunday.

The pony club also put on a Greatest Showman-themed display.

Riding centre owner Christine Anderson was delighted with the day, which proved popular and exceeded fundraising expectations – with all fundraising at the free event generated through bucket collections.

She said that people had been “really supportive” and “generous”, adding that the day had also been blessed with good weather – in sharp contrast to the torrential thunderstorms that had hit the area just one week earlier.

The riding centre is open to all ages and abilities and can also be used by riders with a wide range of disabilities.
