If you're not yet in the festive spirit, this might be perfect for you.
I say that because you'll have a thus far untapped resource of sparkle that unicorns Luna and Melody need in order to save Christmas.
The enthusiast duo lead the mini-corns, biggy-corns and teeny-tiny-corns in a Unicorn Dance Party prompted by an SOS from Santa.
After introducing themselves to the crowd of seven-and-unders (plus adults who joined them), a message from Santa is parachuted from above onto the OneTouch Theatre stage at Eden Court.
The letter read to the audience has an ominous message. Santa admits he's run out of sparkle and doesn't remember why he's doing what he does so he's worried he'll have to cancel Christmas.
Melody and Luna know they have to help so come up with ideas to make the sparkle that Santa needs. Their brainstorm culminates in the Christmas party because we all know that the more fun we have, the more sparkle we create.
And of course, they can't do it with you.
The concept is scary but simple. The challenge is to have as much fun as you can in order to try and save Christmas. This means lots and lots and lots of audience participation – mainly through dancing, hand clapping and special unicorn thank yous, with surprises along the way.
I won't spoil the ending or reveal if there was or was not any dramatic plot twists during the 45 minutes or so of full-on festive fun.
Youngsters arrived dressed to impress, with some donning unicorn head gear and at least one in a unicorn onesie. Their enthusiasm was clear while others – young and a bit older – who may have been less enthusiastic at the start went from toe tapping to up-on-your-feet grooving.
The soundtrack of Christmas classics – including bangers like Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree, Run Rudolph Run and Merry Christmas Everyone – certainly helped.
The show runs at the Inverness venue until December 23.
