A REPLICA of the Scottish Cup has been damaged during a photocall in Inverness.

The cup, which is awarded to winners of the competition instead of the original, was damaged at an event where the media were interviewing Caley Thistle players.

A figure of a footballer which sits on the top of the cup was accidentally snapped off and later stuck back on with sticky tape.

The SFA has confirmed the damage but said the cup will be properly repaired before the Cup Final.

The identity of the photographer who caused the damage is not known, but it is understood they were working for a media firm in the south of Scotland.
