Record turnout at Torvean junior parkrun birthday bash
Children stepped up to the mark for the first anniversary of junior parkrun at the weekend, with well over 100 finishers crossing the line.
Organisers had called for a big turnout in the build-up to the birthday bash, and they were not let down, with a record turnout for the Inverness event.
A total of 122 kids, aged between four and 14, went through the finishing funnel – including 14 first timers.
There were 31 personal best times at the Torvean junior parkrun, which took place on Sunday morning.
The organisers posted on social media: "What a day we had! Thank you to everyone who came to our 1st birthday party!!"
Junior parkrun takes place every Sunday at 9.30am and follows a 2km course around the paths at Torvean park.
There are also junior events in the Highlands at Thurso and Fort William.
