A resident of an Inverness street confronted another motorist who had parked his car in her private parking space and made a racial comment about him.

But 48 year old Rechelle Adamson of Ardbreck Place, apologised to a sheriff, admitting: "I went too far. I am very sorry for my actions."

Inverness Sheriff Court was told by fiscal depute Naomi Duffy-Welsh that Adamson asked the other motorist not to park there but had placed her vehicle in front of his, obstructing his path on September 29 last year.

The prosecutor added that she addressed the man as "'you Polish...' and then something that wasn't heard, and threatened to smash his car."

Adamson admitted threatening or abusive behaviour and Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood deferred sentence until June 13 next year for her good behaviour.
