Sports pupils from Inverness Royal Academy have done a sponsored sit down for Mikeysline – and have managed to raise £450 so far.

Thirty pupils from S5-S6 collectively sat on all 7512 seats at the Caledonian Stadium in Inverness in a challenge in aid of the Highland mental health charity.

PE teacher Amy Weir, who organised the event, said: “We realised soon after we started that it was a lot harder than it looked having to sit on lots of seats one after the other but we all managed to do it in 20 minutes, which we were really happy with.

“The class decided to support Mikeysline as now more than ever we realise how mental health has such a big effect on our everyday life.

“Lockdown has affected a lot of people mentally and we wanted to raise money and spread awareness for this charity which does such a great job in helping to change people’s lives for the better.”
