Police want the public to help them track down a mystery man who caused alarm to a trio of school pupils in Inverness.

Officers described him as being in his 50s, tall, slim, with grey hair and a beard, wearing a blue cap, red zipped hoodie and blue Adidas tracksuit bottoms.

The incident happened near Millburn Academy.

A force spokesman said: "Police in Inverness are appealing to the community to assist with an ongoing enquiry.

"At about 3.40pm on August 22, in Millburn Road near its junction with Diriebught Road, three school pupils were approached and spoken to by a male in a manner that caused them alarm before he then walked away in the direction of Raigmore Estate.

"We are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at that time, who may have seen this male or who recognises his description. This also extends to any motorists with any dashcam footage if you believe you may have seen this male on your cameras, around this time."

Contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
