Drakies Primary School are celebrating their 50th anniversary this week by hosting a range of events.

One of the events planned for the week was to dig up a time capsule that was buried twenty-five years ago, in the grounds of the school, on their 25th anniversary.

However, teachers and pupils have run into a slight problem.

The time capsule is nowhere to be found.

Drakies class teacher, Jacqui Barclay has been spending her time digging holes in the ground to no avail.

She said: “We’ve had ex-pupils, ex-staff and people with metal detectors in to help find the time capsule but we’ve had no luck.

“The grounds of the school have changed since the 25th anniversary when they buried the time capsule, so we aren’t too sure where it is.”

“If anyone has information then please get in touch.”

The school will bury another time capsule on Friday to mark their 50th anniversary, but this time will be leaving a slab on top to mark its whereabouts for the future.
