Beauly Primary School and nursery forced to close for emergency repairs on water mains

Beauly Primary School remains closed today after a water mains issue forced the head teacher to send pupils home on Tuesday.

In a message to parents, she wrote: “The contractors are still trying to locate and rectify the issue with the water mains.

“I very much hope school will be open as usual on Thursday 21st December. I will update you with further information regarding this as soon as I am able.

“I can only apologise again for the inconvenience this is causing.”

A Highland Council spokeswoman confirmed: “The issue is with a water mains and the water supply needs to be switched off for the repair to be carried out.”
