DRIVERS hoping to travel a quick route along the north of Loch Ness are being reminded that road works are going on in the area.

As road works on the B862 get underway motorists are being reminded

A post on Holm Community Council's Facebook page read: "These works might be starting a week later. But as of yesterday , November 15, on Dores road work began to replace a cable for connecting a wind farm to the grid.

"The work will last for several weeks and there will be traffic lights on Dores Road the B862.

"As a consequence higher levels of traffic are expected on the C1040 at Torbreck.

"Since lockdown this road has become even more popular that it used to be for those getting out and about walkers, cyclists runners and those on horseback, please be extra careful.

"We have asked for a temporary speed limit to be imposed along the whole length of the road, but as yet there is no word that will happen."

It reminded drivers: "If you are a motorist using the Torbreck road as a short cut please be considerate. The route is used heavily by children from the Ness castle housing developments and elsewhere."
