Scottish & Southern Energy Networks (SSEN) received reports of a loss of power affecting properties on Harbour Road, Longman Road and Shore Street in Inverness just after 3.40pm.

It is estimated that around six post code areas have been affected, including IV1 1NF, 1NT, 1NZ, 1PB, 1SY and 8XL.

The cause of the power cut is not yet known.

SSEN engineers say the fault should be fixed by 7pm.

Ongoing updates on SSEN faults are available via the energy provider's PowerTrack service.
