Power cut hits parts of Inverness

A large area in Inverness has been hit by a power cut.

The loss of power was reported at 1.40pm, according to Scottish and Southern Electricty Networks (SSEN).

The areas affected is mainly those with an IV2 postcode plus some IV1 and IV3 areas.

Traffic lights near Raigmore Hospital and the Kingsmills Hotel are out of order.

A post on the SSEN website stated: "We’re sorry for the loss of supply.

"We currently have a fault affecting the areas listed. Our engineers are on site working hard to get the power back on as quickly as they can."

It is aiming to have the power restored by 4.30pm.
