A signalling issue in the Montrose area has impacted on train services.

ScotRail reported a signalling issue at Montrose around an hour ago which it said would delay services between Inverness and Edinburgh and Aberdeen and Glasgow Queen Street.

Very shortly afterwards an update reported: "The fault is fixed and train services between Aberdeen and Glasgow Queen Street, and Inverness and Edinburgh are returning to normal but some services may still be delayed.

"Train services between Montrose and Inverurie are subject to cancellation, delay or revision."
