POLL RESULT: Opinion divided on a phased return to Highland schools as just one vote separates yes and no in latest Inverness Courier poll

It was a close run thing but more people who took part in an Inverness Courier poll were in favour of pupils having a phased return to schools in the region.

The results show that 348 voted yes while 347 voted no.

It followed last week's announcement by Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon that younger pupils could start returning to schools from February 22.
