Polling company finds that 83 per cent of people think Covid-19 coronavirus outbreak is not a one-off incident

A national polling company has found that British people are fearful that the Covid-19 pandemic will not be the only similar incident in our lifetimes.

Piplsay polled 7563 people nationwide to get insights into their concerns.

A Piplsay spokeswoman said: "The sudden and disastrous spread of COVID-19 has certainly created fear among people. The subsequent shut down and staying in has thrown life in a disarray."

Findings:

  • Only 17% of people think the COVID-19 outbreak is a one-off incident
  • 60% of people say they plan to keep themselves prepared for future such outbreaks; majority plan to focus on their health and fitness
  • 90% of people plan to maintain some hygiene practices post the pandemic as well

  • 83% of parents are educating their child at home amidst school closures
  • 28% of parents are using online educational apps or videos for home schooling
