Police patrols will be carried out this summer due to complaints about anti social and illegal use of motorbikes and mopeds in public parks in Inverness including the Great Glen Way.

Police Scotland said the work will be carried out by the Inverness community policing team.

Riding a motor bike or moped off road without the expressed permission of the landowner is illegal.

As is riding a motor bike or moped in a public place such as a public park without insurance.

Police said motor bikes and mopeds ridden illegally or in anti social manner can be seized and the riders reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

Any illegal or anti social use of motor bikes can be reported to police by phoning 101 or can be done anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 500 111.
