Police Scotland will be conducting street surgeries across the Inverness area over the summer.

Police in Inverness and the surrounding area are planning to hold a number of street surgeries over the summer months.

They are aimed at allowing residents to discuss policing issues which impact their local neighbourhood by meeting members of the public in the local areas to listen, discuss issues and offer support and advice.

Officers will also continue to carry out their usual foot and cycle patrols across the city.

The surgeries will be held outdoors, in local parks and public spaces to allow social distancing and adherence to current rules and regulations.

The first meetings will be today:

• Between 3pm and 4pm at the Culloden New Play Park next to Duncan Forbes Primary School;

• Between 6pm and 7pm at Ardersier Play Park, next to the primary school

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "We plan to be there at the times stated, however, the nature of our job is that if something urgent and immediate occurs we will have to attend there. We appreciate your understanding of this. We hope to see anyone from those communities there to discuss all issues."

Other dates, times and locations will be posted on Facebook each week when officers are able to carry out street surgeries.

If you need to report any crimes or offences please contact 101 – or 999 in an emergency.
