Police probe into 'unexplained' death of man in Inverness

A relatively large police presence has been reported in the Dalneigh area of Inverness following the 'unexplained' death of a 36-year-old man.

Forensic experts have been spotted at a property in the St Ninian Drive today, after police were initially alerted at just after midnight last night.

An area of the Caledonian Canal nearby was blocked off as part of the investigation.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “At around 12.10am on Sunday, November 12, police were called to a property in the St Ninian Drive area of Inverness, following the sudden death of a 36-year-old man. The death is being treated as unexplained pending a post-mortem examination.

“Officers remain at the scene and additionally by the nearby Caledonian Canal, as inquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing.”
