POLICE are investigating after a fire started in a back garden destroyed a family home in South Kessock.

The blaze spread indoors into the semi-detached house at Carnarc Crescent in Inverness.

One man was taken to hospital with suspected smoke inhalation injuries, but it is understood other people present escaped unharmed.

Flames were seen coming from both floors of the building, with a nearby garage or shed also damaged.
