Police have issued an appeal for help in trying to trace a 59-year-old man reported missing from the Perth area.

Police Scotland says Brian Sharp may have travelled on the A9 towards Inverness on his distinctive motorbike.

He was last seen around 8.30am today in the Abernyte Road area, in the village of Abernyte between Dundee and Perth.

He left on a silver Honda Goldwing motorcycle, registration number SF57 PYG, in the direction of Perth. He then may have travelled on the A9 towards Inverness.

He is described as around 5ft 10ins, of heavy build, and may have been wearing motorcycling leathers.

Sergeant Peter Duncan said: "We are growing increasingly concerned for Brian’s welfare and I would ask anyone who has seen him or his distinctive vehicle to get in touch.

"I would also appeal directly to Brian that if he sees this appeal to get in touch so we know you are safe and well.

"Anyone who has seen Brian or knows where he is should call us on 101, quoting reference 0834 of Monday, 1 August, 2022."
