Road policing officers have issued an appeal for information following a serious crash in Inverness late yesterday afternoon.

A 75-year-old male pedestrian was taken by ambulance to the city's Raigmore Hospital following the crash in Old Perth Road.

Medical staff describe his condition as serious but stable.

Road open again after closure

Police received a report of the crash, involving a light blue Citroen C1 and the pedestrian, about 5.10pm.

Emergency services attended and the road was closed for around seven hours to allow investigations to be carried out and diversions were in place.

The female driver of the car was not injured.

Sergeant Calum MacAuley said: "Our enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and who saw the crash to contact us.

"I would also appeal to anyone with a dash cam which may hold images that could assist us to get in touch."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting incident 2717 of 13 November, 2022.
