Police investigate after car found on fire in Nairn street.

POLICE at Nairn are investigating after a car was discovered on fire in the town in the early hours of today. (Tuesday June 7)

The fire brigade in Nairn were alerted at 5.02am and one local appliance went to the scene in View Road, where the crew discovered the fire had already been extinguished.

Local people reported seeing considerable police activity around the vehicle.

The car was said to be "smashed up" and had its bonnet open.

A resident of Broadhill where View Road is located told the Courier there was "bags of police activity" around the car.

Another resident thought windows in the small Toyota had been broken.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said : "Officers attended at View Road in Nairn at around 5.20am on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 after reports of a car on fire. The fire was extinguished and inquiries are ongoing."
