Police are hunting four "darkly-clothed" males who attacked a man in Tain.
Officers have issued an appeal for witnesses or anyone with information about the assault which occurred on at around 5pm on Sunday, December 3 at the Tain Links railway bridge.
A spokesman said: "A man was assaulted by four males dressed in dark clothing.
"Anyone who may have been driving on Shore Road, Tain at this time or anyone with information is urged to contact Police Scotland 101, quoting reference 2543 of 03/12/2023.
"Alternatively, information can also be passed anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
