Police issue public appeal to help trace a missing 16-year-old Inverness girl who was last seen on Sunday and could be in the Aberdeen area

Officers from Police Scotland's North East Police Division have issued a public appeal after an Inverness girl was reported missing.

It is believed that 16-year-old Courtney Merchant could be in the Aberdeen area and she was last seen in the Highland capital on Sunday evening.

A spokesman said: "Officers in Aberdeen are appealing for the assistance of the public to trace 16-year-old Courtney Merchant who was reported missing from Inverness and believed to be in the Aberdeen area."

She was described as white, around 5ft 5ins tall, with long, blonde hair.

Anyone who has seen Miss Merchant, or who has any information on her whereabouts, should contact 101 with reference 1578 of December 13.
