Police who raided a house in Inverness found a Liverpool man with more than £4500 in drugs and almost £1000 cash.

The property in Johnston Place was raided on February 15 last year and, after being arrested, Jack Beasley (22) told detectives he had collected £3000 from drugs customers in the city.

Solicitor Greg Cunningham told Inverness Sheriff Court his client, from Simons Croft, Netherton, had just been “dipping his toe in the water (of drug dealing), which has been a bath of ice.”

Sheriff Margaret Neilson previously deferred sentence and heard police recovered two wraps of heroin with a street value of £3900 and 65 packages of cocaine with a street value of £650. Beasley also had £950 in cash.

He was ordered to carry out 300 hours unpaid work and remain under social work supervision for 18 months.
