Police divers brought in as search continues for missing Highlands man
Police are carrying out a search of the River Spey by Aviemore as efforts continue to try and find missing man Rodrigo Falcon.
Members of the force's Dive and Marine unit are currently looking in the river by the Macdonald Spey Valley golf course at Dalfaber.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Rodrigo is still missing unfortunately. The Dive and Marine unit are searching a section of the River Spey today.
"They are remaining in the area over the next couple of days to continue with searches of lochs in the search area."
The initial focus of the search following Mr Falcon's disappearance in the early hours of December 11 was in the Lynwilg area.
He had left The Vault nightclub in the village centre in sub-zero conditions and CCTV footage from local businesses showed him heading south out of the village.
The last CCTV image of Mr Falcon was on the opposite side of the road from the Premier Inn, and the last reported sighting was at the Kinakyle cliffs.
A friend said: "His footprints in the snow then lead down, and across the field on the southern side of the junction (B9152/A9 – the Lynwilg junction) where they then stop."
She added: "There is no way he has travelled this distance without being seen by more people and dash cams."
One hope is that motorists living outwith the area who were travelling on the A9 and the B9152 around the time of Mr Falcon's disappearance may come forward with more dash cam footage if they pick up on the appeal.
But despite all the efforts so far, Mr Falcon's whereabouts is still unknown and the search has been expanded.
Upwards of 100 friends, local business staff and supports were out daily in the week after his disappearance assisting police, dog handlers and mountain rescue teams in freezing conditions.
