Officers from the Highland and Islands Police Division are appealing for witnesses to an assault in The Playhouse nightclub in Nairn during the early hours

Police in Nairn are still investigating an assault in the town.

It was in The Playhouse nightclub between 02.15am and 02.30am on Sunday.

A spokesman said: “The incident resulted in a male in his twenties sustaining facial injuries in an apparent unprovoked assault.

"As part of ongoing enquiries, officers are appealing for witnesses to the assault or anyone with information."

Anyone with any information should contact officers on 101 quoting reference number 0548 of March 13 or alternatively information can be left anonymously via Crimestoppers.
