Police are appealing for witnesses to a crash south of Inverness that left a woman cyclist badly injured.

The 59-year-old was taken to hospital early yesterday afternoon after colliding with the car nine miles from the city at Dunlichity, near Farr.

The accident happened around 12.50 pm by Mains of Bunachton.

Road policing officers want to speak to anyone who saw the crash or have information on the incident.

They say the cyclist was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness for treatment, with medical staff describing her injuries as serious.

The occupants of the Dacia Sandero car were not injured.

Road Policing Sergeant Calum MacAulay, Police Scotland, said: “Although this is a rural road, it is still frequently used, so we are urging anyone who witnessed the collision to please come forward.

"If you believe you have information which could be relevant, or you may have dash-cam footage, please contact police on 101, quoting incident 1416 of 30 January 2023.”
