Police Scotland appeals for information after Vauxhall Astra ploughs into Beauly Firth on A862 Inverness-Beauly road at Clachnaharry

A CAR crashed off the road and into the sea on the A862 Inverness to Beauly road in the early hours of Thursday.

The one-vehicle crash, which involved a westward-bound blue Vauxhall Astra, occurred near Clachnaharry shortly before 1.30am.

Nobody was hurt in the crash and no other vehicles were involved. The car was recovered from the scene the same morning.

Enquiries are ongoing and anyone who may have information should contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident 199 of May 2.
