Police Scotland have issued an alert on Dalneigh car thefts.

Police are alerting Dalneigh residents to a spate of thefts from unlocked and “insecure” cars and vans.

After receiving a number of reports of items stolen, officers reminded the public to make sure their vehicles are secure and properly locked.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “In the last few days, we have received several reports of thefts from insecure vehicles in the Dalneigh area of Inverness.

“Please remember to lock your vehicles, keep valuables out of sight and phone the Police if you see anyone acting suspiciously.”
