In a drive to find more blood donors, two additional days have been added to the latest drive at the blood bank at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness.

It is hoped that a total of 65 people will come forward for donation sessions today Tuesday and tomorrow, Wednesday October 7.

Appointments are available from 2.30 -5pm and 6-7.30pm both days. Donors should call ahead to book an appointment.

These sessions are in addition to normal weekly sessions held every Monday and Thursday.

A spokeswoman for The Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service said: "We normally run our sessions weekly on a Monday and Thursday so these sessions today and tomorrow have been added to our programme to help us maintain blood stocks.

"We would like to find 65 donors that we need to attend on each of the days.

"Anyone who is able to attend should just call us or go online to book their appointment."
