Plans have been lodged with Highland Council to build 49 new homes in the Slackbuie area of Inverness.

Inverurie-based firm Kirkwood Homes wants to erect a mix of detached and semi-detached three and four-bedroom properties at Earl’s Gate, on land already zoned for residential development.

No affordable homes are included in the proposal, with agents for the developers stating a quota of these have already been provided by the landowner Tulloch.

The new housing would be accessed through the existing Earl’s Gate link road, with two vehicle access points.

The developers claim the layout provides “an attractive and welcoming environment” for both residents and pedestrians, with a rustic footpath, public art and green open spaces.
