Plans have been submitted to change a pub near near the gateway to Glen Affric into a private house.

The application relates to the Slaters Arms in the village of Cannich.

The pub also has four accommodation cabins in the ground below.

The proposal for change of use of the building has been submitted to Highland Council on behalf of Angela Muir.

A change of use is likely to be acceptable, according to pre-application advice.

Previously, the Slaters Arms boasted a warm welcome for visitors, having been renovated to a high standard over the years with a decked area at the back of the restaurant offering views along Strathglass towards the hills of Cougie and Glen Affric.

In 2010, it added three self-catering timber cabins, each sleeping four people.
