ONE of the most popular one-day events in Inverness’s summer calendar is set to return, as tickets for Piping Inverness 2020 go on sale today.

After an outstanding first year in 2019 tickets for the event, that also hosts the European Pipe Band Championships, is returning to the city’s Bught Park on Saturday June 27.

Organisers hope that year two will build on the phenomenal success of the inaugural Piping Inverness.

Last year, more than 17,500 visitors attended to see 100 pipe bands from around the world perform including a number from as far afield as the USA and Australia.

Rebecca Corbett of event organisers LCC Live, said: “Piping Inverness 2019 was an outstanding success – it was a truly great day and it was wonderful to see so many pipe bands, drum majors, Highland dancers and visitors fill the arena in Bught Park.

“We’re really looking forward to doing it all again next year!”

The piping event is expected to attract more than 4000 pipers and drummers to compete across a number of grades, and in excess of 20,000 visitors. It will be a great fun-filled family day out, and we hope you will come and join us!”

Early Bird Tickets are available from www.pipinginverness.com and Caffery’s Menswear in the Eastgate Shopping Centre.
