Wintry showers may have caused travel disruption for some in the Highlands.
But for others, it was the chance to get outside and have fun in the snow.
Youngsters took the opportunity to get out on their sledges or build a snowman while others enjoyed being in the outdoors and taking in the winter wonderland scenes.
The adverse weather conditions resulted in the closure of the A9 south of Inverness in both directions yesterday afternoon.
Both carriageways reopened to traffic about 3.20pm after teams from Bear Scotland cleared the snow although motorists were still advised to drive with extra caution.
A Met Office yellow warning remains in place for further sleet and snow showers in the Highlands and Islands for tomorrow and into Friday.
The conditions are likely to lead to some difficult driving conditions and travel disruption.
The showers are likely to lead to a fresh covering of snow for areas above 200m.
Below this level, they may cause some slush which then may freeze and cause dangerous, icy patches.
