The Inverness Courier Wedding Fair showcased the best of local on Sunday

LOVE was in the air as brides-to-be hunted for inspiration for their big days at the Inverness Courier Wedding Fair.

More than 50 stalls, ranging from specialists in cakes, accessories and clothes to photographers, entertainers and venues were on hand at Inverness Leisure on Sunday.

Some 350 people attended the event and enjoyed two fashion shows with gowns from Charlotte Smith Bridal and wedding guest outfits by La-Di-Da Fashion, narrated by KBE Events with props from Dream Events by Sarah. Your Day Styling did the hair and make-up of the wonderful models, who wore a lovely range of gowns.

Vendors were positive about the coming year.

Accessory maker Kathleen Macpherson, who owns Hair Combs the Bride, set her business up in autumn last year after waiting for restrictions to ease.

“I am optimistic about the future. Things have been getting back to normal and we are back in full swing now,” she said.

Laura Ross, from Laura Ross Hair, said: “I am crazy busy right now, I’m booked up into 2024, which is unusual. I was worried when I began doing bridal hair only that I wouldn’t be busy enough, but here we are.”

Bands taking to the stage were EZRA, The Northern Night and Electric Cherries.

Fair organiser Lynn Gardner said: “It was lovely to see so many people under one roof again and the excitement of everyone.

"It led to the wedding fair being such a great day. There were quite a few exhibitors which were here for the first time and it was great to see them having so much success.

"I can't wait for the next one now!"
