A bake sale organised by a Strictly Inverness competitor has raised hundreds of pounds for worthy causes.

The dance-off takes place in May this year to raise funds for Highland Hospice and Inverness Ice Centre.

Lia Smith (18) from Muir of Ord was behind the cake and coffee morning at Strathpeffer Spa Golf Club.

Lia said: "The fundraiser went really well. Lots of people turned up to support.

"Lots of cakes were made and people said it was the best bake sale they had seen.

"I managed to make a total off £628. So a really good turn out for a little bake sale."

Lia is following in the footsteps of her mum Carla who took part in the dance-off several years ago.

She said: “The reason for me applying is my mum Carla did it in 2016 and loved it.

“That has made me want to do it ever since. I just have never been old enough until now.

“I love dancing. I would dance anywhere instead of walk if I could so this is a very exciting experience for me."
