Storm Babet has reached the Moray Coast and Nairn yesterday, with strong winds causing damage to trees and halting some bus routes.

Parts of Nairnshire experienced adverse weather with reports of fallen trees in town, however the area was spared the worse of the gale.

Although no weather warnings have been issued that affect the area in the coming days, heavy rains are expected to affect Easter Ross and a red alert has been issued as heavy rains will impact Aberdeenshire and Angus on Saturday.

Anyone planning to travel should check the forecasts and avoid areas under red weather warning.
