Splash of colour as Inverness fundraisers Go Bright for the fight against muscular dystrophy
A number of Inverness groups got on board for the Go Bright campaign in aid of Muscular Dystrophy UK.
Louise Flett (32) from Balloch, lost her four-year-old son Leo, who had also been diagnosed with muscular dystrophy, last year, so the appeal was more poignant for her.
She said: “I think muscular dystrophy is one of those conditions that isn’t really well-known – we just need everybody to get involved and raise awareness of it.”
Wendy Mackay, who is the head teacher of Duncan Forbes Primary in Culloden, remembered Leo when he was a pupil there and they were taking part in his memory. She said: “Leo was popular in our school. All of the children were invited to dress up really brightly.”
One of Leo’s favourite activities was to attend singing classes in Balloch put on in the village hall by Moo Music Highland, which also got involved.
