A festival celebrating whisky and the world of spirits was back in Inverness last weekend showcasing the best of the distilling industry.

The Scottish National Whisky Festival – back for the second year at Eden Court – paired stalls and workshops revolving around Scotland's national drink with live music performances from local artists throughout the day.

From whisky novices to experienced enthusiasts, there was something for everyone sheltering from the moody weather on Saturday.

The date in Inverness was the first in the whisky festival's programme for 2023, as it will travel to Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Festival co-ordinator Gareth Croll said he was delighted to bring the event back to the Highlands.

The concept behind the festival – which originated in Glasgow in 2015 – is to celebrate the historical relationship between whisky and Celtic music culture.
