A church fundraiser for Barnardo’s Scotland has raised £1746.61 – along with plenty of smiles and laughter.

The event on Saturday at North Free Church in Inverness saw youngsters and families savouring fun, treats and refreshments and a raffle and tombola, as well as a visit from Santa Claus.

Entry was free on the day with Carol-Ann Crossan Guruge, the Children’s Services Manager for Highland at Barnardo’s Scotland, delighted with the sum raised.

“It was a fantastic day and it was brilliant to see so many people in attendance,” she said.

“We enjoyed some home-baking which was supplied by team members and family – and there was plenty left over for the church to enjoy!

“Santa paid a visit, and it was lovely to see the smiles on the faces of so many of the little ones. A local company, Mascot Madness, kindly donated a bouncy castle which provided so much fun for the children.

“All of the money raised will go towards purchasing Christmas presents for care-experienced young people living in the community as part of the Springboard Project.”
