PICTURES: Runners keep moving in 24-hour endurance event on Loch Ness

Hundreds of runners battled through the night to complete a new endurance running event on the banks of Loch Ness at the weekend.
The 24-hour event say runners tackle a seven-kilometre course, with those completing the most laps in the time crowned the winners in various categories.
The male solo winner Jonny Wolf clocked up 26 laps while female solo champion Angela Davidson completed 24 laps – each covering more than 100 miles.
But organisers said the first Loch Ness 24 was not just for serious ultra-runners, with participants also taking part in pairs or teams of different sizes.
Race director Jono Buckland, of Zone Events, was blown away by the positive feedback from race participants and support crews.
“What a great response, we are absolutely thrilled with the outcome," he said. "There were some incredible distances covered, and the atmosphere was electric. The beautiful weather certainly helped to make the stunning views even more rewarding for our participants.
"With people travelling from as far afield as Europe and even South Africa just to take part, we think it’s safe to say that Loch Ness 24 has proven itself to be one of the world’s most spectacular, gruelling, yet rewarding endurance trail running events in the world.
"The event was a resounding success, with thousands of pounds being raised for the official charity partners, Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland, RNLI Lifeboats, RAF Benevolent Fund and Held in Our Hearts.
"We’re looking forward to next year, as we’re aiming to make it even bigger and better,and will be launching our early bird tickets very soon.”
