A CITY centre egg hunt drew crowds of more than 3000 people over the Easter weekend.
Organised by Inverness BID with support by Eastgate Shopping Centre, the annual Great Easter Egg Hunt was staged on Friday and Saturday – for the first time in two years.
A total of 42 eggs were hidden in shop windows at locations including the Victorian Market to the Eastgate Shopping Centre. There were bunny mascots on hand to help and arts and crafts and face painting to create a day full of fun.
Organisers supported children’s charity the Archie Foundation by raffling off a giant Easter egg hand crafted by Belgian chocolatier Lucas Story of the Victorian Market, raising £1516. It was won by five-year-old Wyatt Parker and mum Makala from Inverness.
Inverness BID manager Mike Smith said: “It was the most successful Easter egg hunt we have ever had. It was fantastic in the city centre, it was a maze of people. Overall it achieved our objective which is to entertain people in the city centre but also to get them to walk around and see the shops.”
