PICTURES: Cradlehall Primary's summer fête day raises money for playground fun

Cradlehall Primary hosted a fun fête to raise money for a timber assault course – also known as the school’s trim trail.

Each class provided a fundraising stall or activity for the event including walking on Lego, a car wash, pick a teddy and basketball.

The local fire service even dropped in so kids could have a look at their impressive appliance.

Head teacher Lawrence Sutherland said: “The evening was a huge success. There was a huge turnout of families, the weather remained fair and we exceeded our target in terms of monies raised. We raised a very impressive £3335.

“The event turned out to be a fantastic celebration of a community coming together after a period of over two years where this kind of get-together has just not been possible.

“There was a terrific atmosphere with everyone just glad to have the opportunity to meet each other safely at an event which will provide a lasting benefit to all members of the school community for many years to come.
