PICTURES: Newest festival NC50 rocks Inverness
People in Inverness enjoyed the Highland capital’s newest music festival.
NC50 was held over two days in a number of city centre venues with local musicians performing free gigs.
There were 13 venues involved including Johnny Foxes, Gellions, Highlander, Hootananny, Market Bar, Jimmy Badgers, R&B’s, MacCallums, SoBar, Platform 8, Mad Hatters, Tooth & Claw, and Mercure Hotel.
And music fans enjoyed sets from more than 50 artists including The Whiskys, Space Van, Dorec-a-Belle, Chancers, The Vandal and Ashley and the Cosmonauts.
It was organised by Hootananny bar manager Steve Robertson, with the support of Inverness Pub Watch and Inverness BID. And it is hoped it will be staged again in future.
Mr Robertson said the Highland music scene had always been popular and he hoped that by making the NC50 Music Fest free, it encouraged more people to turn up and show their support.
He added that, with gigs taking place in several popular venues featuring top acts from across the Highlands, their aim was for musicians and music fans to get back to what they loved doing.
