PICTURES: NC50 Music Fest gets off to a good start in Inverness – the two-day event will see 13 city centre venues hosting more than 50 local live music acts in a series of free gigs

Inverness' newest music festival got off to a good start last night and is set to continue tonight.

The two-day NC50 Music Fest will see 13 city centre venues hosting more than 50 local live music acts in a series of free gigs.

It has been organised by local Hootananny bar manager, Steve Robertson, with the support of Inverness Pub Watch and Inverness BID.

It will include sets from the likes of The Whiskys, Space Van, Dorec-a-Belle, Chancers, The Vandal, Sarah Gallagher, and Ashley and the Cosmonauts.

The venues involved in the NC50 Music Fest 2022 will host up to four live performances between 5pm and 2am.

Those involved in the festival include Johnny Foxes, Gellions, Highlander, Hootananny, Market Bar, Jimmy Badgers, R&B’s, MacCallums, SoBar, Platform 8, Mad Hatters, Tooth & Claw, and Mercure Hotel.

Organisers are hoping that NC50 Music Fest will prove so successful that it can become an annual event in the city’s musical calendar.
