A Smithton woman raised more than £1000 at a fundraising event for Highland Hospice.

Fiona Clark, who is one of nine finalists in this year’s Ness Factor singing competition, organised a night of mediumship at the Chieftain Hotel in Inverness.

The medium for the night was Barry Hogg and she said he led a great evening for everyone. She added: “There was lots of laughter and some tears.

“Messages went to where they were needed and the feedback I have received from everyone that attended is that they thoroughly enjoyed the event.

“I would personally like to thank Barry Hogg for making the journey from Edinburgh to support me and Liz Lawson from the Chieftain Hotel for providing the venue.”

There were 70 people who attended the night and they collected a total of £1090 from ticket sales, raffles and donations.
