PICTURE SPECIAL: Moray Firth Mermaid meets children on the beach
MEET the Mermaid was a great success this week on Hopeman’s east Beach.
The Northern Scot joined forces with Moray Firth Mermaid Ashleigh More for a charity event.
The Edinburgh-based actress spent two hours meeting young fans.
Starry-eyed young girls and boys were able to sit on a rock with Ashleigh on Tuesday morning.
She said: “It was great meeting all the little jellyfish on Hopeman beach!
“I think I might have had more fun than the kids.
“I’m so happy to have raised money for the Ladybird Development Group, who do so much for the local children.
“I might swim up again on Hopeman Beach this summer, keep your eyes peeled!”
The fun event was in support of the Lossiemouth play group, which looks after children with additional needs.
Ashleigh works at the RealMary Kings Close in Edinburgh, a tourist attraction, which donated £150 and the Oasis Church in Elgin also support the fundraising.
With donations on the day from mums and dads, grannies and grandads, and carers, the final total raised £861.60.
