The hatches are open and the marquees are up as day one of a fortnight of teasing the tastebuds is now under way with the return of the Highland Food and Drink Trail.
This year's theme is 'Discover what’s on your doorstep’ as the champions of the region's food and drink industry descend upon Ness Walk in Inverness for two weeks of the finest street food from across the Highlands of Scotland.
Among those welcoming the public today were Auld Smokey Pizza, the Angry Seagull Fish and Chips, Ollie’s Pops, Oregano Mobile Catering and JuicyNess Smoothie Bar from noon until 5pm.
Siobhan Neylon and Chris Giubarelli provided the soundtrack to the event with a stunning live set, as trail goers washed down their choice of cuisine with expertly poured pints from Inverness-based craft brewery Dog Falls.
